With over 100 years of experience, Weber Knapp is a leader in plating services for metal fabricators. One of the many specialties of our services is the Copper, Brass, Black Oxide, Nickel and Zinc electro-plating for small bulk process parts. A dedicated plating department with in our 265,000 sq.ft. facility allows for a large expansion depending on the needs of our customers. Weber Knapp introduces a new keyboard mechanism, the EasyRiserAT. Adjusts easily with a new Auto Tilt feature. Set by simply lifting and releasing to your desired setting between a tilt range of +5˚ at 2” up and -5˚ at 4” down. EasyRiserAT can be outfitted to meet your keying needs with various keyboard trays, clamps, mousing surfaces and choice of palm rests.

The Bamboo Story

In our on going efforts to be kind to the environment in which we all must live, Weber Knapp has developed yet another industry first, a Keyboard Tray manufactured with earth-friendly Bamboo. Bamboo holds the promise of a sustainable, cost effective and ecologically responsible alternative to the widespread clear cutting of our world’s precious timberland. Bamboo is actually a grass that grows to a harvestable height of 60 feet in about 3 to 5 years, some times growing as much as 2 feet per day. It has an extensive root system that continually sends up new shoots, naturally replenishing itself. It does not require replanting, therefore causing no soil erosion making it one of the most renewable resources known.

The species used for our Bamboo tray is commonly known as “Moso” timber bamboo and no, it is not a habitat or food source for the Panda Bear. The Weber Knapp's Bamboo Tray is available in two colors, light, which is the natural color of the bamboo and dark. The dark color is achieved not with chemicals or stains but by steaming the bamboo, bringing out the natural sugars. This color is permanent and will not fade or wash out and our tray is guaranteed to be warp free.

Protecting National Treasures is an Open-and Shut Case

The Rotunda of the National Archives Building in Washington, D.C. contains display cases housing the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. Flanking these are two sets of seven cases lining the Rotunda's curved walls that display the "American Originals" document collection. Both banks of cases have seven individual glass lids, each framed in ornate bronze castings.

Custom hinges from Weber Knapp make it easier to open and close massive lids on cases protecting the "American Originals" document collection. The collection includes the Gettysburg Address, the voting ledger of the First Constitutional Congress, the Louisiana Purchase agreement, Rosa Parks' arrest records, and President John F. Kennedy's Inaugural Address. The case hinges are part of a renovation that should be completed later this year.
